'Why are we sick?'
The whole country, the whole world is raging with the Covid-19 virus.
'Why are we sick?'
It's my life-long question.
Humanity, which is sickened and deceased by a tiny little virus, has been suffering from SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome), MERS (Middle ast Respiratory Syndrome) to Covid-19. It is not the case only for humans. Millions of millions of pigs and chickens have been buried alive because of Foot-and-mouth disease virus, Swine fever, and Avian Influenza.
The pain that lies within the circle of life, being young to growing old, from life to death, is inevitable to all living things.
Though we may not comprehend why were we born, grow old, and eventually die, could we not feel pain or be sick during our lifetime?
A miserable sights in a wildlife documentary that the father kangaroo kept raising a dead mother kangaroo, and a baby kangaroo standing next to it, watched it with anxious looks; the mother capybara helplessly watching its baby being dragged and eaten by the crocodile and turning away from the sight as nothing could be done.
I feel pity for every living thing, struggling to live out life, including myself. Therefore, I tried to relieve a bit of the burden they may have to take.
Deep Biology Computing, which funded by a pharmaceutical company such as Roche to IBM, is a project to develop a computer-based simulation of 'protein folding', the basis of all life phenomena, at the molecular level.
Until 2020, computers were 'passive computer architectures' that only handle mechanical instructions given manually by a given program. However, the Intelligent Silicon for Active Computing (ISAC) CPU solves the problems with its built-in actors. It is a CPU chip for an 'active computer structure' that decides and handles on its own.
ISAC CPU aims for Figures of Merit: 100 times in computer structure; 100 times in software structure; 100 times in speed and stability with 100mV 100GHz ultra-low-voltage and ultra-high-speed semiconductor technology; 100 times in 3D package and assembly technology; overall improving 100 million times from conventional CPUs.
The world's best supercomputer as of in 2020 is IBM Summit[i], which has 200 PFLOPS performance at 13 million watts using 2.4 million CPU Cores and 20,000 GPUs, however, ISAC CPU aims for 1 Exa FLOPS, fivefold faster, and 100W single CPU chip, 100 thousand times more saving a power.
So, again, 'Why are we sick?' is my life-long question and the reason the ISAC CPU Research exists.
